Technical Consultant - SR&ED Tax Credits
Pinchevsky specializes in assisting companies to obtain SR&ED tax credits and to restructure their business to optimize future R&D claims. Pinchevsky, one of the largest SR&ED firms in Canada, is continuing to expand and is seeking full-time Consultants to join their team in Toronto.
What is SR&ED?
The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program has existed for over 20 years and is one of Canada’s largest tax incentive programs. Its aim is to create a supportive environment for Canadian businesses to carry out research and development (R&D). Businesses conduct R&D activities to develop or modify existing products and/or processes to improve performance, develop intellectual property, reduce costs, or create new markets. Any individual or corporation carrying on qualifying R&D activities in Canada can participate in the program.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree in Science, Engineering, or a Computer-related discipline
- Two or more years experience in a field of science or technology
- Three or more years experience in client or project management
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingualism (English & French)
- Teamwork, strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation and organization skills are essential
- Consulting experience and knowledge of basic accounting principles would be definite assets
What is the job about?
The consultant is responsible for the preparation of all aspects of client files related to the technical and financial aspects of the SR&ED work, and will be exposed to a broad range of industries. The candidate will be involved with science/technology leaders and state-of-the-art innovations within companies in a variety of industries, as well as benefit from continuous learning through interaction with SR&ED experts, conferences and networking.
Responsibilities:
- Client and project management - organize, prepare, and manage clients’ SR&ED claim process in the most effective manner
- Prepare a technical and financial report for submission to Canada Revenue Agency (CRA)
- Advise and act on behalf of our clients with CRA
- Evaluate client systems, train staff and develop strategies to maximize claim benefits
- Prioritize tasks for multiple clients to consistently achieve delivery milestones, maintain records, manage audits and handle all communication with CRA
